Choreographic Residency 2025 - Miriam Eskildsen

The last choreographic residency recipient for 2025 is Miriam Eskildsen.

Miriam is a choreographer based in Tāmaki Makaurau. Over the last few years, she has worked with friends and long-term collaborators to create tactile works that explore tender and knotty emotional dynamics through a surreal, playful lens. 

During this residency, Miriam will be exploring states of physical and emotional porousness, and how the indistinct, shapeshifting borders between body and environment may sit in tension with the emotional pull towards narrative and coherency. She is looking forward to developing these ideas in collaboration with visual artist Grace Bella, who will be joining her for the residency period.
